C'mon Brothas... Really?!?!?

So… again Brothers… I must say… WE’RE MISSING THE BOAT!!!

I’m moving around the blogosphere… lurking in the posts of so-called “conscious” Brothers… and … DAMN!!! Our sisters see it ever so clearly…but we just refuse to wake up. What do we need to see happen to get shocked into consciousness? We (because I am in the grouping of “Black men”…regardless of my stand or position) are so far from reality that it makes me feel as if the lies about us are true. We don’t give a $#!+ about Black women. Do we not? Please…those of you with a backbone and “testicular fortitude”… call me on it! Women who read my blog… forward it to your male friends and family… have them call me on it! More than call me on it… meet me in the streets to go to work to stop black males from:

· BEATING BLACK WOMEN… AND NOT BEING PUBLICLY REPRIMANDED AND PUNISHED BY BLACK MEN.

· RAPING OUR WOMEN AND CHILDREN (DATE, STATUTORY…OR JUST ANIMALISTIC) … AND NOT BEING PUBLICLY REPRIMANDED AND PUNISHED BY BLACK MEN.

· DISRESPECTING OUR MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS AND SISTERS… AND NOT BEING PUBLICLY REPRIMANDED AND PUNISHED BY BLACK MEN.

· ABANDONING OUR FAMILIES… AND NOT BEING PUBLICLY REPRIMANDED AND PUNISHED BY BLACK MEN.

· SELLING OUT… AND NOT BEING PUBLICLY REPRIMANDED AND PUNISHED BY BLACK MEN.

· HATING OURSELVES TO THE POINT THAT WE ARE DATING AND MARRYING ANYONE WHO DOES NOT LOOK LIKE US… AND NOT BEING PUBLICLY REPRIMANDED AND PUNISHED BY BLACK MEN.

C’mon. This is just the short list. Have you read about the “Bring a white girl” parties, “Mulatto girls free” events, Rev. Al Sharpton’s no-show-no-call in Dunbar Village, Nigga’s (because there is a distinguishable difference between Americans of African descent and Niggas) buying R-Kelly albums and concert tickets (not to mention the ones selling the bootleg concert t-shirts…who show no semblance of self respect!), the 11 year old baby impregnated by a grown ass black male … WHAT THE F#$%???? Really… I’m disgusted… no words could begin to describe how I feel… WTF barely shades my feelings. Lauryn Hill said, “…I add a mothafucka so you ig-nant niggas hear me!”. I get her.

What are we doing Black men? Why are we not here? How do we let such atrocities occur, and sit back as if it’s “all-good”? We got it backwards! If you got it to give … give it to a white cop…not your brother. If you got it to give…give it to your child not your “Whoo-hooo I made it, I’m with a white ass white girl” white girl. If you got it to give … give it back to yourself respectfully…not the mainstream media, so they can tell you that respecting you and yours won’t sell!

We need to come back to the place where we are needed the most. We need wake up and realize that we are KKK’ing ourselves better than they ever could have. We need to stop making sorry-ass, feeble excuses for why we can’t, or still do, or never could, or…can barely now…and MAN UP!!! Pay attention brothers..the black women get it. They are so clear and tired of it that they are ready to abandon us! Now really… think about it…who has always had your back..no matter what? Uh-huh…and now she’s ready to be that for an Arab man, or a Latino man, or an Italian man… we need to save ourselves and our Women and Children. NOW!!!

I’ll leave you with this:

A huge majority of thinkers and humanitarians agree that the only person that loves the black man more than the black woman… ... ... is the black man.

Lead by example ...

What do you think black women were doing when Black men were being beaten and lynched upon arriving to this country as slaves? Hmnnn?

Yoko Ono said that women were the “niggers” of the earth… according to that rationale… what does that make Black women? I ask my brothers this question so that we hold ourselves personally accountable and responsible for being absent during this Black movement that is so powerfully… NON-EXISTANT! I am noticing that Black males (MEN stand and protect, and hold themselves to a level of accountability that clearly shows the highest level of respect for their female counterpart) want all of the praise that comes with being strong Black men… with NONE of the work. Not only are we not doing the work…we are UN-DOING any work that has been done. Imagine the work that the leaders of the 60’s and 70’s did as a bank account… and every time those leaders needed to withdraw from that account, it had a positive balance…because they were constantly making deposits. Then we have a 35 year silence in the movement. We go 35 plus years not making any significant deposits into that account… but somehow Black men are surprised to find that there is nothing to draw from when we show up at our bankrupt and overdrawn institution. That’s because not only are we not doing the work… but we are poisoning our Black communities, and warping the images that international communities have of us…WORLD WIDE!!!

As Black men, it is absolutely imperative that we reclaim our rights to stand and fight for our Black women, that we stand and fight for our Black families, that we stand and fight for our Black communities, that we stand and fight for the ownership of our talents and abilities, that we stand and fight for equal human rights for all Black people… that we as Black men understand that our number one goal is to do what white America fears so much, and that is to put ourselves back together as one unified Black community to realize and exercise our social, economic, spiritual and historical strength!

Black women get it! Have you navigated around the female Blogosphere? Go to:

Black women are all over the truth. Black women are calling it like it is… unapologetically, with so much insightful honesty, that I get both inspired and disappointed. Inspired…because black women have always been the teachers and trailblazers willing to earn battle-scars to defend their black men and children. Disappointed… because Black males refuse to stand on the front lines in truth and wisdom to defend against and overcome or oppressors and give our women the much needed break from soldiering up stronger than we have, to finally be women. Loved, protected and respected…PERIOD!!!

What would Dr. Khalid Muhammad say if he were here today? We have to get busy Brothas!!!

Don’t talk about it… BE about it!

...and it started with a lie!

So… I’m going to start my first post with a conjunction, an unapologetic point of view and food for thought.

As I open my eyes and really look at this white supremist endorsed country, I am forced to make a choice. The same choice that Laurence Fishburne delivered in the Matrix. I am forced to make a decision between the “Black” pill or the “White” pill. I am forced to choose between watching the machine churn out more Black hating Americans of African descent, or… risking my lack of real freedom and false sense of comfort in an upside-down society for Americans of African descent who are going to fight me at every turn to hold onto their warped sense of freedom and equality that they can see DOESN’T work!

We got here on a lie. We exist now in a lie…and we look forward into a lie. Not just any lie…but the lie! Let me back up just a little.

I’m going to address this issue as a Black (black) man. I Preface that point because Black women have not missed the point, and they have the very amazing ability to call it like it is. Black men; Russell Simmons, Sean Combs, Common, Bob Johnson…just to name a few, refuse to call it like it is. Most black men point the finger at EVERYTHING else. We spend so much time allowing our abused black women(that we, like Eldridge, abuse) to bail us out, or take the fall for us, that we refuse to be strong Black men. Black men who could be strong and lead, not “leave”. Black men who could protect and respect, not “abuse”. Black men who could really be leaders.
Instead … we live the lie. The lie recycles the lie. We spew the lie from our mouths as truth. The truth becomes the lie… and in the end… we give all of Black power to a white man who controls the lies that we consume as truth…

…think about it!
